ABOUT
Font fanatic. Bee buff. Data dork. Flower fancier. News nut. Gadget geek. Veggie votary. Alliteration addict?
You get the picture. I’m pretty nerdy — about a lot of things. I’m especially nerdy about design (my chosen career path) and gardening (my favorite escape from the real world). Other recent and/or ongoing obsessions include, but are not limited to: baseball, coffee, data visualization, robots, shoes, news media, gadgets, MacGyver, the color grey (regardless of spelling), libraries, dinosaurs, The Container Store, limeades, getting Rob Reiner to like my tweets, old cameras, new mascaras, swearing (sorry Mom), any food with “salad” in the name to divert attention from the fact that it is actually 50% mayo.
designerd
Designer + nerd = designerd.
Here’s the part where I say some profound things about my design philosophy. Good design is not about making content look better. It is about making it work better. Good design should be smart. It should quickly, efficiently, accurately and cleverly solve a problem.

Gardener + nerd = gardenerd.
My gardening philosopy: when in doubt, plant a little bit of everything. While I put the majority of my gardening efforts into heirloom tomatoes and peppers, I also grow a variety of berries, culinary herbs, hydrangeas, hostas, hardy hibiscus (that alliteration was entirely accidental!) and whatever strikes my fancy in my all-too-frequent visits to local nurseries. Check out my Twitter feed to join the plants party.
