During a recent redesign project, I was exploring the candy store that is Font Bureau. As I was bookmarking my favorites such as Benton Sans and Quiosco, I began to notice that many of my favorites were all from the same font designer, Cyrus Highsmith. I’m especially entranced by how his fonts seem so perfectly suited for publication design, from the compact book weights perfect for narrow news page columns to the great variation in his font families that would keep headline treatments fresh and varied for a long time.
